Designer Crush: Jill Sorenson

If I could describe the work of Jill Sorenson in only two words, it would be "whimsical chic."  She unabashedley saturates a space with brilliant color, texture, and pattern while maintaining an urbane aesthetic.  Her home here in the States features a spectrum of hues that I certainly fancy, but for those of you who favor a more monochromatic look, you'd go gaga over her abode in Sweden.  For your decor pleasure, here are some lovely images from Jill's portfolio, including pictures of her two homes:

Designer Crush: Barrie Benson

I love it when I come across the portfolio of a designer who shares my sense of style.  Barrie Benson is one them.  I stumbled upon her work the other day and have been ooo-ing and aaahh-ing ever since.  I just love how she takes traditional shapes, dresses them up in happy colors and accessorizes them with pops of the unexpected - whether it be an over-sized abstract, loud graphic rugs, or whimsical wallpaper.  Here are a few of my favorites from her portfolio:

House Tour

Hello everyone, and happy hump day!  Today, we are taking a house tour of one of Connecticut's finest designers, Sarah Kaplan.  Sarah studied design in South France and now has an interior decor shrine in Westport, Connecticut called Dovecote.  "Like her store, Sarah’s historic home reflects a life exotic, quixotic, eclectic, whimsical, and ultimately – wellread and well-lived."  Let's take a look inside:

I absolutely adore her style and am convinced that when I win the lottery, I am going to decorate my own home with furnishings from her lovely little shop!

Designer Crush: Katie Rosenfield

As I was perusing the blogosphere the other night, I happened upon the work of Southern-bred, New England based designer Katie Rosenfeld.  And let me tell you, I am in love with her aesthetic! It's so fresh, vibrant, and unique.  She seamlessly mixes modern design with classic details, but nothing is fussy or too overdone.  Take a look at what I mean:
